Ship’s Knees Inn presides over a sprawling 1 1/2 acre knoll of verdant and rolling manicured lawns, Adirondack chairs and other seating amidst resplendent gardens of rhododendron, green hedges, hibiscus, day lilies, alliums, wisteria, hydrangea, roses, shasta daises, cone flowers, and black-eyed susan. The Inn, a circa 1820 former Sea Captain’s home in East Orleans offers guests the serenity of a residential location as well as a desirable access just 1/4 mile ( 5 minute walk) down the hill to one of the east coast’s most outstanding beaches, Nauset Beach. The well manicured grounds also include an in-ground pool, lush green lawns, patios and distant views of the Atlantic Ocean. An 1100 sq. ft. courtyard garden patio with gas fire pit was constructed in May 2008 & provides guests a relaxed area for morning breakfast, reading, sunning or enjoying an evening beverage. Other areas of the property include hammocks, rocking chairs & picnic tables. The grounds offer a peaceful environment and ambiance for whiling away lazy summer days and is a welcome home base after exploring all of what Cape Cod has to offer.
