Center for Coastal Studies

  • Details
The Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and protecting marine animals and coastal and marine ecosystems through scientific research, education, public policy initiatives and responsible management strategies. Since our inception in 1976, Center scientists and researchers have rescued more than 190 entangled whales and sea turtles; we have conducted groundbreaking research into some of the world’s most endangered whale populations; monitored levels of contaminants in Cape Cod Bay, and measured the effects of dynamic ocean processes on our fragile coastline. We have also educated thousands of visitors and students of all ages about the precious marine environment that makes Cape Cod such a desirable place to live, work, and play.
