Downtown Hyannis is about to shine a little brighter this December as Hyannis Holiday returns for its third annual season of festive fun. On December 5–6, 2025, residents and visitors are invited to step into a full weekend of holiday magic, creative community spirit, and family-friendly entertainment—all set against the charming backdrop of Main Street and Hyannis Harbor.

This beloved celebration is brought to life through the collaborative efforts of the Hyannis Main Street Business Improvement District, Love Live Local, the Town of Barnstable, ArtsBarnstable, the Greater Hyannis Civic Association, and the Cape Cod Maritime Museum. Together, they transform downtown Hyannis into a sparkling holiday destination filled with twinkling lights, joyful music, and unforgettable winter traditions.

Friday Night Lights & Festive Sips
The festivities kick off on Friday, December 5, from 5:00–8:00 PM with First Friday on Hyannis Main Street, featuring the always-popular Sip ‘n Shop. Local businesses will stay open late, offering seasonal cocktails, special promotions, and an extra dose of holiday cheer for evening strollers.

At 5:30 PM, gather at the top of Hyannis Village Green for the lighting of a showstopping nautical-themed holiday display, complete with a special appearance from Santa Claus himself. A Saturday Full of Festive Fun
The celebration continues Saturday, December 6, with activities for all ages.

Start your morning at the 12th Annual Holiday Love Local Fest, taking place on the Hyannis Village Green from 10:00 AM–4:00 PM. With more than 120 makers, brands, and food vendors, this beloved open-air marketplace is the perfect opportunity to pick up locally crafted gifts, handmade goods, and seasonal treats. From artisan jewelry to small-batch sweets, you’ll discover treasures that reflect the creativity and heart of Cape Cod’s maker community.

Just steps away, the Hyannis Main Street Stroll brings even more holiday excitement from 11:00 AM–3:00 PM. Families can visit a petting zoo, enjoy pony rides, play festive games, and participate in the always-popular Reindeer Roundup, encouraging little ones to search for Santa’s “lost” reindeer throughout Main Street.

For those with a sweet tooth, the Cookie Stroll is a must. Sample cookies from participating businesses and vote on your favorite—an irresistibly fun way to explore local shops. And at noon, Santa makes his grand arrival by antique fire truck, ready for visits and photos from 12:00–1:00 PM and again from 1:30–2:30 PM.

A Glowing Finale on Hyannis Harbor
As the sun sets, make your way to the waterfront for the breathtaking Hyannis Boat Parade, one of the region’s most cherished holiday traditions. Festivities begin at 4:00 PM, with boats expected in the inner harbor around 4:30 PM. Watch as vessels of all shapes and sizes glide through the water, adorned with shimmering lights and dazzling decorations.

Santa joins the fun on the water before heading ashore for a final chance to hear holiday wishes. Warm up with hot chocolate or chowder as you take in the sparkling harbor views—an idyllic ending to a magical weekend.
