Highfield Hall & Gardens, a magnificently restored historic mansion and estate, is now a vibrant center of cultural and community life on Cape Cod. The story of this property is a dramatic one as it was literally saved from the wrecking ball in 1994, and loving restored as a museum in late 2006. Surrounded by 400 acres of public woodlands and spectacular gardens, Highfield is both a hub for public events, art exhibitions and a lovely venue for private or corporate functions.
From historic Sandwich to the artists’ colony in Provincetown, every town and village on Cape Cod has artists’ studios, music festivals, galleries and craft shops to enjoy. The Cape has over 83 museums to explore, including the Cape Cod Museum of Art and Heritage Museums & Gardens. There are outdoor concert and the world-class Cape Symphony. Theaters abound, including the Cape Playhouse, America’s oldest professional summer theater. Historic attractions are plentiful, from the JFK Hyannis Museum to Pilgrim Monument in Provincetown.

The Expedition Whydah Sea Lab and Learning Center was the first permanent location dedicated to the display of artifacts recovered from the Whydah wreck site. Much like its newer counterpart in Yarmouth, the original museum is dedicated to the Whydah, her crew, and her discovery.

The Orpheum is a quality cinema with two screens with 3-D capability, 6.1 SurroundSound© audio, and extremely comfortable seats with widely-spaced aisles. We feature first-run major motion pictures plus art house films, independent productions and documentaries, including locally-produced films. Located in Osterville village, the museum complex includes three historic buildings set on two acres of beautiful grounds, providing a lovely setting for a picnic lunch prior to touring the museum. The Captain Jonathan Parker House, circa 1824, the Cammett House, circa 1730, and the Herbert F. Crosby Boat Shop, circa 1855 present different views of the village that spans three centuries of Osterville and Cape Cod history.
The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribal Museum was a dream, then a passion of Amelia Peters Bingham, in which she saw the opportunity to highlight the rich indigenous culture and historic significance of the Town of Mashpee, on Cape Cod, known as the Land of the Wampanoag. The idea also coincided with the 100th anniversary of the 1870 incorporation of the Town of Mashpee.

Since its inception in 1951, Cape Cod Theatre Company/Harwich Junior Theatre’s core work has been to use theatre as a vehicle for entertaining and educating young people and adults on Cape Cod. The production component of the theatre presents eleven main stage shows each season for family audiences; these include classics, musicals, new work and dramas that range from Shakespeare to Sondheim. These productions provide artists and audience members alike with opportunities that inspire the imagination and creative spirit.
