Except for the addition of essential electricity, the old Atwood House is unchanged from when it was built and is furnished throughout as it was during the 18th and 19th centuries.

The Sandwich Historical Society and Glass Museum interpret the history of the town and its glass industry. Exhibits of glass and historical items tell the story of the town’s greatest contribution to the American Industrial Revolution. Displays offer more than 6,000 pieces, in fifteen galleries, created by the different glass companies in Sandwich during the 19th and 20th centuries. The Museum also includes daily glassblowing demonstrations, a multi-media theater, a contemporary glass gallery, and special exhibitions.
In 1958, John & Cassandra Baylis opened a small antique shop in an old Cape three quarter house facing the salt marsh on Rock Harbor Road in Orleans. There the name of Windsong was born to honor the haunting harmonies of the Cape wind as it whistled across the marsh and sang under the eaves of the 19th century home.
In 1961, John & Cassandra moved Windsong Antiques to the carriage barn on the grounds of a large 18th century captain’s house on Bank Street in Harwich.
