Bear In Boots opened it's doors in Spring 2014, but the idea for it came long before. Owners Kate and Gates Rickard met at Johnson & Wales University in Providence. Both had plans on opening their own business. Their curiosity for food and travel landed them both jobs in Switzerland, Belgium and England. This restaurant combines all aspects of the couple's life. Many nights were spent after a hard days (or nights) work in the pubs in London. Bear in Boots is a warm comfortable place where Cape Codders and tourists can enjoy comfort food done with the type of skill usually reserved for fine dining restaurants.
We like to say we don't have a can opener, a freezer or a microwave. We do our own butchering, make our own sausage, pasta, bread, ice-cream, cakes, ketchup and mayonnaise, drink mixers...you name it we make it. Not because we want to be fancy because we want our guests to enjoy good food.
