Massachusetts Cranberries

  • Details

Massachusetts Cranberries has a wonderful program about cranberries, agriculture, and local farming! Our education field trip program is from our mini tour barn in Carver MA. In the spring we showcase the growing berries and perennial vines. We discuss the history, seasons, and local farming. We walk Bogside through the farm (we can take vans or buses out along bog route if needed). Our bog roads are hard packed sand and we have had wheelchairs successfully move along the roads. We have cranberry farming equipment on display and explain their uses. We have a cranberry farmer or representative on site to give first hand knowledge. Guests make a bog in a cup to take home. In the fall, we showcase the ripe berries on the vines in addition to our regular history talk, equipment showcase, bog in a cup, and a Bogside walk through the cranberry farm. We demonstrate our historic cranberry separator and people can take a turn sorting cranberries. We sell fresh berries on site as well. This is a non-harvest tour. Our education program is 60-90 minutes depending on needs and group size. We have a minimum group size of 15 paid with up to 3 complementary chaperones.  We offer tours weekdays April- November. Book at cranberries.org or email bogtours@cranberries.org
