Harwich Junior Theatre, Inc.

  • Details
Since its inception in 1951, Cape Cod Theatre Company/Harwich Junior Theatre’s core work has been to use theatre as a vehicle for entertaining and educating young people and adults on Cape Cod. The production component of the theatre presents eleven main stage shows each season for family audiences; these include classics, musicals, new work and dramas that range from Shakespeare to Sondheim. These productions provide artists and audience members alike with opportunities that inspire the imagination and creative spirit. The Education Program consists of school matinee series for each of the main stage productions, 19 on-site classes, an outreach program and a teenage touring ensemble. All of these programs provide a supportive, challenging and innovative environment where students develop their unique creative voice. Students in CCTC/HJT education programs learn how to collaborate to solve problems, to seek assistance, self-discipline and to see themselves as an essential part of a greater whole. They develop the desire, tenacity and ingenuity to tackle their own and the world’s challenges. Our mission is to educate, empower, and inspire students of all ages to explore and expand their creative talents, to experience and appreciate live theatre, and to develop and nurture a lifelong love of the performing arts.
