Ambassador Morningstar will also discuss the geopolitical consequences of the United States notice to withdraw from the Paris Climate Accords and the role that the United States can still maintain in the transformation to clean energy.

Richard Morningstar is a lawyer, academic, entrepreneur, and diplomat. He is presently Founding Chairman of the Global Energy Center at the Atlantic Council. He has served as Ambassador to Azerbaijan (2012-2014) and to the European Union (1999-2001) in addition to a wide range of other senior positions throughout the U.S. government.  He has also taught at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and Stanford Law School, served as President, Chairman, and CEO of the Costar Corporation, and as a lawyer with Peabody and Brown (now Nixon and Peabody) in Boston from 1970 to 1981.
