Cape Cod Hydrangea Fest Cocktail Trail 2018

Cool off from the heat of July while you are enjoying the gardens of 2018 Cape Cod Hydrangea Festival! Stop in at participating local restaurants, venues & stores throughout Cape Cod along the Hydrangea Festival Cocktail Trail, sponsored by Cape Cod Beer. Each location is serving their own Hydrangea-inspired cocktails that you can only try during the festival.

 CCHS is proud once again to partner with Heritage Museum and Gardens to be the “kick off” event for the 2018 Cape Cod Hydrangea Festival.  Hydrangea University will take place on July 6th from 8:30 to noon.  Tickets will be available at www.heritagemuseumsandgardens.org/  ($65.00 for members of CCHS and Heritage, $80.00 for nonmembers).  This year's event will feature:

Barnstable Education Foundation Garden Tours - July 6th

Five beautiful gardens will be open for viewing on July 6th, 10 am-4 pm. The proceeds from the garden tours will benefit the Branstable Education Foundation. Admission:$5 per garden Rain or Shine

Hydrangea Festival at Heritage Museums & Gardens

The Cape Cod Hydrangea Festival returns, celebrating the iconic plant that makes Cape Cod so stunning in July. See the expanded North American Hydrangea Test Garden, participate in workshops, purchase plants, and tour the garden, which includes over 150 spectacular species and cultivars. All programs are free with Museum admission. No advance registration required.

A Classic Cape Cod Garden Tour to benefit Barnstable-Yarmouth Lions Club

Visit this beautiful Cape Cod home with foundation plantings of rhododendrons, hostas and other plants.  See over twenty hydrangeas of seven different varieties and colors. Imagine having coffee on the blue stone patio with pergola and assorted plants and view the garden shed with window boxes and plenty of bird feeders and houses. Learn how the owner have used hydrangeas to follow a white two-rail fence with a classic arbor. Be inspired by the farmers porch overlooking gardens with roses and plats that attract birds and butterflies.

In the heart of historic Harwich center, stroll through the gardens of two charming antique Cape Cod homes plus admission to The Brooks Academy Museum, The Elmer Crowell Barn and gardens.  The Nathan Underwood II House circa 1829 located at 679 Main Street and just across the street is his brother’s house located at 687 Main Street circa 1842.  These gardens feature hydrangeas, azaleas, topiaries, hosta, rhododendrons, statuary, rock walls and much more.  Visit these beautiful gardens and the Museum for just $10!

Sandwich Garden Club: Glass Town Garden Tour

The Sandwich Garden Club is proud to host this charming garden tour of historic Sandwich.   You will see gardens in bloom at the peak of their summer beauty in close proximity to each other to allow for a walking tour (approximately 1-1.5 miles).  If you choose to walk, be sure to savor all the other exquisite summer gardens not officially on tour.  Take a deep breath, relax, and bring yourself back to a simpler time when horses and buggies traveled our roads and glassblowers worked in factories from dawn to dusk.

Barnstable Education Foundation Garden Tour -A Flair For The Dramatic

This garden is an example of how a small property can be turned into a colorful, flower-filled oasis. You’ll see the coy ponds, with a combination of perennials and tropical plants filling the perimeters. Discover tall, impressive varieties of plants and those with colorful foliage. Be surprised by the fanciful ornaments placed in ponds and gardens…you might even meet a Hollywood celebrity or two! Be sure to note the welcoming front door patio and ask John any questions about ponds and water gardens. Accessibility: Discretionary - uneven land, soft ground.

Historic Barnstable Village Garden Tour to Benefit Sturgis Library

Drive along historic Old King’s Highway (Rte. 6A) to the historic Village of Barnstable, passing the John Lothrop house, home to the Sturgis Library; enjoy the beauty, history and best preserved homes and gardens of historic Cape Cod!  You will spend a delightful day on the North side of ‘olde’ Cape Cod and support a library housed in the oldest building in the USA to offer books and services to all ages – our iconic and beloved Sturgis Library.
