Join us for our free webinar series, "A Celebration of Nantucket Sound" (ACONS). Our guest speaker for January 2022 will be Greg Ketchen, retired US Coast Guard Captain. Greg is a volunteer at the Coast Guard Heritage Museum and currently serves as its president. Greg has served as a development consultant to Massachusetts’ commercial ports, headed operations at the New England Aquarium, and filled a wide variety of Coast Guard jobs. During his 27 years as a Coast Guard officer, he performed duties as the head of the service’s Search and Rescue policies, completed an assignment as deputy commander and chief oceanographer for the International Ice Patrol, served on the faculty at the Coast Guard Academy, and commanded Group Boston and a NATO station in Italy.

For this webinar, Captain Ketchen will present on the early and recent history of shipwrecks in Nantucket Sound, marine emergencies response efforts, and the origins of the Coast Guard’s Search and Rescue Mission.

A live Q&A with Greg and Save Our Sound President Audra Parker will follow the presentation, so have your questions ready!
