    Songs from the Road

from west to east on the Silk Routes & beyond

    Eric Maul   flute

    John Thomas   piano

    Justin Torrellas   woodwinds

    Parker Ousley   cello

The legendary “Silk Road” trade route is known in history for the seemingly endless variety of goods and commerce that moved from Europe to Asia and back again from the second to the 15th centuries. But the politics, religions and cultures of societies and nations also traveled along the 4,000 mile network of roads and waters. They mingled, merged and blended into combined and new forms of thought and culture… especially music. Four musicians known for their innovation in music repertoire and instrument performance gather to take a journey through music old and new from France, Hungary, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey, China and Japan. They present a music without borders tour from the Atlantic to the Pacific in a soundscape of aural treasures that will fill the concert hall and enrich the spirit.

The Great Music on Sundays @5 concert series presents the 24th season of concerts from June 12 through September 18 with live musicians and a live audience at the Unitarian Universalist Meeting House of Provincetown (236 Commercial Street). Together again!

The Sunday concerts begin at 5pm and include an hour of delightful and stimulating music without borders: Baroque, classical, Broadway, international, piano, organ, a cappella and original music with more than 35 performers sharing a creative potpourri from across the centuries and around the world.      Each concert also will be live streamed on the concert series’ dedicated YouTube channel and will remain available for enjoyment for one week before the next concert is live streamed.
