Just a stones throw past the historical Quaker Meeting House is 18 Quaker Road in East Sandwich.

This area is listed in the National  Registry of Historical places; which dates back to 1672 when the first Meeting  House was built. The gardens are designed to attract Native Cape Cod wildlife!
The front and sides are planted with native shrubs and trees to feed and shelter insects, birds, and other wildlife to maintain the wild Cape Cod landscape. This required careful identification of species growing in the nearby woods.

A long flower border in the sunny backyard attracts hummingbirds butterflies, and other pollinators. Here you’ll see iris, bee balm, yarrow, meadow rue, butterfly bushes, native and old-fashion hardy hibiscus and dwarf hydrangeas.

Native oak-leaf hydrangeas grow in the front, and two Paniculata cultivars - Little Lime and Bobo - bloom in the sunny backyard. The owners will give guided tours and answer questions.

$5.00 donation to benefit the Sandwich Arts Alliance. Also, check the Sandwich Arts Alliance website for Hydrangea Festival activities and  local Artists’ paintings and Cape Cod hand -crafted gifts, books, and more!
