  • Details
    • Dates: July 11, 2024
    • Location: Thompson's Field - Harwich
    • Time: 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM

The Pollinator Pathway Cape Cod is both public and private pesticide-free corridors of native plants that provide nutrition and habitat for pollinating insects and birds. Even the smallest green spaces, like flower boxes, patio pots and curb strips, can be part of a pathway. There are over 300 private gardens registered on the map. While you are in the towns of Harwich, Orleans and Sandwich there will be public gardens that are on the tour and will have docents at the gardens to talk to you about how to build a pollinator friendly garden.

Thompsons’s Field, a Town of Harwich property with a wildflower garden built and maintained by the Garden Club of Harwich features Golden Yarrow (Eriophyllum confertiflorum), Purple Coneflower (Echinacea purpurea), Tickseed (Coreopsis) and Beardtongue ‘Husker Red’ (Penstemon digitalis ‘Husker Red’). It also has a new free leading library to support the pollinators.
