The Pollinator Pathway Cape Cod is both public and private pesticide-free corridors of native plants that provide nutrition and habitat for pollinating insects and birds. Even the smallest green spaces, like flower boxes, patio pots and curb strips, can be part of a pathway. There are over 300 private gardens registered on the map. While you are in the towns of Harwich, Orleans and Sandwich there will be public gardens that are on the tour and will have docents at the gardens to talk to you about how to build a pollinator friendly garden.

The Village Green was built by the Rhododendron Society in 1989. It was revitalized by the Nauset Garden Club and the Orleans Improvement Association in 2023. There is also a new Pollinator Garden built by the town of Orleans. The revitalization added native rhododendron, azaleas and other native plants.  The garden changes by season to provide diversity of color and seasonal interest for the pollinators
