Painstakingly carved out of five acres of invasive shrubs and vines over the past 24 years, the lush perennial and shrub borders of this large property highlight hundreds of examples of hydrangeas, roses, daylilies, deciduous and evergreen shrubs, grasses, and other perennials. A registered garden on the Pollinator Pathway Cape Cod, this garden is an example of the extensive use of native plants and their effective integration with non-natives.  Meander through garden “rooms” surrounding the house including the sweeping front garden, a contemplative “Circle Garden” surrounding an ancient oak, a rose-bordered terrace garden, and a boxwood-lined rose garden.  Then stroll down woodland paths past an old barn and through pond-side native plantings of red twig dogwood, clethra, baptisia, native azaleas, river birch, blueberries, ferns and wildflowers. Color, light and shadow, birds and butterflies, all abound in this varied landscape nestled within acres of conservation land and bordered by freshwater ponds.

The proceeds from the garden tours will benefit the Nauset Garden Club.  Admission:$5 per garden. Rain or Shine.
