Love Letters Contest!

Have you ever written a love letter? Ever received one?

Cotuit Center for the Arts is hosting a contest for the best Love Letter.

Maybe it was written to a friend, parent, child, or even a pet.

LOVE LETTER CONTEST

Prizes include a 1st – $250, 2nd – $150, 3rd – $100, 4th and 5th – memberships to Cotuit Center for the Arts. Winners will be announced at a Gala Reception in the Center’s Art Gallery on Saturday, May 20th at 3:00 p.m., followed by a production of LOVE LETTERS, by A. R. Gurney.

The performance will take place at 4pm at the new John Weltman Outdoor Performance Pavilion. Directed by Carol McManus, starring John Weltman and Linda Monchik, the Pulitzer-Prize tragi-comedy has been delighting audiences all over the country, since 1989 when it opened with Jason Robards and Colleen Dewhurst on Broadway. The play tells the story of Andy and Melissa, who share their lives and love through letters.

To enter the contest, please send a copy of your Love Letter (with names changed to protect privacy if desired), with your name, email address and telephone number to:

A panel of three judges will choose the most original, creative and/or endearing letters.

Deadline for submissions is May 7th.

Both the Performance and Reception are FREE to attend, with or without entering the Contest, but you must register by calling the box office at 508-428-0669 or go to the LOVE LETTERS web page to reserve your spot.
