Garden Tour to Sandwich Arts Alliance: The Fornari Gardens

Discover what a Marine Geologist and an artist-turned Garden Communicator create over 15 years on 2.5 acres. See creative containers, handmade rustic fences and trellises, and a solar-heated seed-starting shed. Take photos of flowers in several perennial beds, and shrub borders. Learn about a vegetable garden that completely fills an upright freezer over the summer. Discover weed-smothering groundcovers, native plants and what to grow for fragrance. This long, thin property slopes down to Lawrence Pond, and features unusual trees, annuals, roses and a lawn that hasn’t been fertilized in 10 years.
