Put on your favorite green and join us on an unforgettable musical adventure to Ireland! For our trip to the Emerald Isle, we’re bringing along two stellar artists who will transport us all! GRAMMY-winning Eileen Ivers is the world’s pre-eminent Irish fiddler today and we’re delighted to have her back on the Cape Symphony stage.  Phenomenal Celtic harp player Maeve Gilchrist takes the instrument to new heights. She tours with Yo-Yo Ma’s Silkroad Ensemble and is the co-music director of WGBH’s Christmas Celtic Sojourn.

We’ll feature important Irish composers Arthur Duff, Hamilton Harty, and Bodley Seóirse, each contributing a unique voice to the various periods of Irish symphonic music. Percy Grainger’s version of “Danny Boy,” recorded by Leopold Stokowski, shows how Irish folk music can be set in a sophisticated way.

    Showtimes: Sat 7:30pm, Sun 3:00pm
