Call for Art: Abstract Juried Exhibition

Artists working in any medium can submit to our upcoming Juried Abstract Show at Falmouth Art Center which will run September 29 to October 23 in our Hermann Gallery. 

Receiving for works being submitted for judging is on Tuesday, September 26 from 9am to 5pm

To be considered, the work should not depict recognizable visual reality but rather it may use shapes, colors, forms, and gestural marks to achieve its effect. The best in show will receive $200 and there will also be four $100 juror prizes.

The juror for the show is modernist artist, and Cotuit resident, William Hemmerdinger. Hemmerdinger has participated in over 900 international group and solo exhibitions. A former professor of art and architecture he has also functioned as art critic, curator, author of art research, gallery owner and designer. Originally from Los Angeles, his painting, Untitled – Bunraku Performer, 1982, is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles.
